As per NCRT, over 1906 people have committed suicide in Bengaluru and more than 705 are youth between 15 and 29 yrs and
the social scientist say that early expiry of these precious lives is to a large extent due to their inability to face failures, could be
in Academics, Career or Relationships .

In the recent times we notice a dangerous trend of increase in number of YOUTH committing suicide. Social scientists say that the early expiry of these precious lives is due to their inability to face failure in academic, career or disappointments in their relationships! Needless to say this is a great loss to our state.This tragic scenario has lead to shattered families,who have lost purpose of their lives.Many such parents feel that they should have acted earlier than regretting now.SA-MUDRA felt that such inevitable tragedies need to be averted with timely action.Therefore,as a sensitization drive to save youth,we started an annual campaign themed #LOVE-LIFE to hand hold these disturbed,anxiety struck youth and suggest that

‘Help could be just a call away’.

Needless to state that this is a great loss to our evolving society, state and country. Therefore, as a sensitization drive to save youth, SA-MUDRA an NGO working for youth welfare through counselling and capacity building started an annual campaign themed #LOVE-LIFE to hand hold and to create awareness about available help and early intervention to these anxiety struck young lot .

WAY FORWARD

• Continues counselling to youth with suicidal tendencies and family
• Workshops and seminars on confidence building and coping skills
• Street plays at youth centric public places, literature distribution on prevention of suicides
• Formation of a # LOVE-LIFE forum to help and support bereaved parents and families
